In 1989 we started a professional sharpening and repair business in Minnesota that worked primarily with pet groomers. We trained with Andis, Oster, Laube, Double K, and Scimech, plus others who were master shear sharpeners or experts in equipment repair. Over the years we have learned a lot about shears, clipper blades, clippers and dryers. We worked on so many different makes and models, we soon found we were familiar with the quality, engineering, and strengths & weaknesses of these products. (Yes, all products do have weaknesses!) Our customers began asking for advice on what they should buy, or what would work best for their particular situation, need, and budget. We would not recommend products we knew to be of inferior quality or performance and many times had groomers return only to tell us they wished they had listened to our advice. As we had more and more requests to carry products, we started carrying items we felt were superior in quality,
performance, and price.

Today we continue to search and evaluate products to provide our customers the best in value and quality. We are constantly looking for items that stand up to the rigors of daily use in “the real world:” By providing products and services that make your work easier, more productive, and more successful; your time and energy can be spent doing what you do best.

Being an on-site service and repair center provides hands-on knowledge and an understanding of products inside and out. This gives us a distinct advantage over most other suppliers who either do not offer service or they contract service work out to a third party. GroomStar is able to more completely serve the customers’ needs with our experience and expertise. Our sharpening and repair service has an outstanding reputation for high quality on a national level.
