Shear Sharpening
Shears are sharpened on equipment designed exclusively to sharpen professional shears.
Type-specific precision machinery and angle alignment can return shears to their original beveled or convex edge. GroomStar sharpens all kinds of shears, including thinning shears and left-handed shears.
Each shear is initially inspected; edges are re-sharpened to factory sharpness and edges honed and polished to a high luster to produce smooth, sharp scissoring; blades are balanced; tension adjusted; bump stoppers, screws & washers replaced as needed at no extra charge; then the shear is cleaned & lubricated, with final inspection and testing done. Corrugation is available on request.

Clipper Blade Sharpening
GroomStar blade sharpening is done on hollow ground factory equipment, meaning our machines are the same type used in the manufacturing of your blades. Our machines weigh hundreds of pounds and are not portable, like many after-market machines used by many sharpeners. This helps guarantee precision, and makes blades that cut smoother and stay sharp longer.
Blades are disassembled, cleaned, and hollow ground to factory specifications. Springs, glides, and sockets are adjusted or replaced (if necessary) at no extra charge. Blades are then lubricated and reassembled to precise tolerances of tension and alignment. Each blade is checked in our shop for proper functioning, before it is returned to you.
